There is never a dull moment with Hulk Hogan. Hogan was asked in an interview at E3 who he’d like to wrestle in his last match and the answer may surprise you.
“Well, if there is that one last huge match that really, really meant something to the fans, that would have to be against “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.”
On the one hand, I kind of admire Hogan’s answer. Hogan has a reputation for well let’s just say not exactly being the most honest guy when it comes to media interviews. He has a way of recreating history and changing stories that would probably give Dr. Seuss a headache. So the honesty here is pretty refreshing and ironically, something that has gotten him into a bit of hot water.
On the other hand, his critics are openly questioning why he would put over the competition and not TNA Wrestling. Yes, the Hulkster being the company man that he is ignored every wrestler in Impact Wrestling and instead gave fodder to a WWE opponent for a match that is never going to happen. Sting, Ric Flair, or even Kurt Angle would have probably been better answers if you were trying to create some interest in the promotion you are taking a check from. Nope, Hogan wants Austin!
Hogan’s desires to wrestle Steve Austin are nothing new. Hogan has been politicking for years to get a match with Austin at WrestleMania. Stone Cold Steve Austin doesn’t share the same sentiments. The original plans for WrestleMania 18 were to have a Hogan vs. Austin match when Hogan returned in 2002. Keep that in mind for a second when you think back on Hogan vs. The Rock and remember, that wasn’t even the original idea.
Austin turned down the WrestleMania 18 match and didn’t want to work with Hogan, although they did in a tag team match on RAW. I have read some blips here and there that said that Austin didn’t feel that he and Hogan would have a good match. Hogan even tried to publicly call Austin out at the 2006 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony but nothing came out of it.
I hate to break the news to Hogan but Austin isn’t coming back. If Steve Austin was going to come back, he would have come back by now. Even Austin’s best friend Jim Ross weighed in on the news and shed a little light from the inside on a possible Austin return.

RAW Results – 06/13/2011
The Miz’s music hits and he heads to the ring. Miz says he’s an All Star and you’d have to be a moron to not realize that. He called Alex Riley a moron and said that he’d expose him “like a tweet from Anthony Weiner.” Miz said he’s going to teach Riley a lesson. He then calls out Steve Austin and says he owes him an apology, and the show won’t start until the glass shatters and Austin’s music hits and he heads to the ring.
Austin rips Miz for calling him out and tells him to “shut up” before Miz could say anything. Austin tells Miz to keep quiet or he’ll stun him. Austin gave Riley props and said that he might be a bigger superstar than Miz someday. Austin grabbed Miz by the tie and said that Miz will be in Piper’s Pit later tonight along with Alex Riley, and then tells him to leave the ring. Miz hesitates, and then leaves the ring. Austin then said it’s his RAW, before Alberto Del Rio’s music hits and he drives to the stage.
Del Rio takes the mic on the stage and introduces himself. Del Rio gets in the ring and talks about how great he is and says that it’s his destiny before Austin cuts him off and says that he sees an “a– whipping” in his future. Austin then says he’s wrestling the first match of the night against… Kane’s pyro hits.
Kane vs. Alberto Del Rio
Pretty short match. Del Rio is able to lock an arm bar on Kane. Kane makes it to the ropes, but Del Rio won’t let go, getting himself disqualified.
Kane defeated Alberto Del Rio via disqualification.
Big Show’s music hits and he runs to the ring and charges Del Rio. He starts hammering away on Del Rio. Ricardo Rodriguez tries to interfere, and Show starts beating up Rodriguez as Del Rio runs to the back. Kane tries to calm Show own, and puts him in a sleeper while telling him to calm down and Show eventually relents. Steve Austin comes out and tells Del Rio that he’s probably already in his car and he might as well start driving to D.C. since he’ll face Show this Sunday at Capitol Punishment. Show’s happy and leaves the ring as we head to commercial.
Back from break, and Hornswoggle is in the ring shooting T-shirts to the fans. The Truth’s “music” hits and he comes out with mic in hand. He talks about how fun it looks with Hornswoggle shooting T-shirts to the fans, and asks if he can try it as he enters the ring. Truth gets in the ring and says he’s going to beat John Cena and become the new WWE Champion. He says Cena won’t stop him from getting what he wants, and neither will Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle shoots a T-shirt at Truth, and Truth grabs Hornswoggle. He lets go and Hornswoggle offers his hand. Truth then kicked Hornswoggle in the face. Steve Austin gets on the Titan Tron and asks him to pick on someone his own size, and the camera zooms in on John Morrison. Austin announces Truth vs. Morrison for later tonight. Truth then kicked Hornwoggle and left the ring. Jerry Lawler went into the ring to check on Hornswoggle.
John Cena faces CM Punk later tonight and we head to another commercial.
Sheamus vs. Santino Marella
The end of the match saw Santino hit Sheamus with the cobra, but Sheamus kicked out. Sheamus planted Santino with a boot to the face and followed up with a Texas Cloverleaf and got the submission win.
Sheamus defeated Santino Marella
Randy Orton is shown backstage walking to the ring as we head to commercial.
Back from commercial and a video package is shown of Christian’s heel turn.
Randy Orton’s music and he heads to the ring. Orton started to talk but his mic wasn’t working. He got another mic and said that it felt good to be back on RAW. He said he’s not satisfied because he knows that Christian is in this building, and he asks Christian to come of the ring. He says that the promises that he won’t hurt Christian and that all he wants to do is talk. No Christian and Orton admits that he was going to hurt him. Christian is shown on the Tron and asks why Orton is so angry since his entire career has been handed to him on a silver platter while he’s had to fight to get to where he’s at. Christian tells Orton that he’s not coming out. Orton said that it’s too bad that Edge isn’t here so that he can carry him to the ring like he’s been doing for 17 years. Christian then said that he’d come to the ring and starts walking to the ring.
Christian’s music hits and he starts heading to the ring. Before he gets far, he has second thoughts and security comes out to hold Orton back. The RAW GM chimes in and says that he has to get involved even though Austin is in charge. He said that Orton has a concussion due to the belt shots from Christian, and he will not be able to wrestle tonight. He then suggested that Orton leave the arena. If Orton doesn’t comply, then he’ll be stripped of the belt. Orton teased going after Christian and then headed to the back as Christian smirked. Austin got on the Tron and said that Christian has a match against Rey Mysterio and that’s next as we go to commercial.
It is announced that Rey Mysterio will face CM Punk at Capitol Punishment this Saturday.
Christian vs. Rey Mysterio
Christian got disqualified for not breaking a choke at the referee’s five count.
Rey Mysterio defeated Christian via DQ
After the match, Christian tried to attack Mysterio on the top, but Mysterio was able to send Christian to the mat. CM Punk started heading to the ring and Mysterio hit him with a flying splash on the outside. Mysterio got back in the ring to turn his attention back to Christian as the Nexus came to ringside. Mysterio went for the 619, but Mason Ryan caught his legs, drug him outside of the ring and nailed him with a series of backbreakers. Ryan put Mysterio back in the ring and Christian hit the killswitch.
Austin is shown talking on the phone in the back when Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero approach him. Vickie asks Austin to give Ziggler a US title match against Kofi Kingston, and Austin agreed on one condition… that he drops Vickie. Austin talks about how he had a manager, and that Ziggler needs to do this on his own. Ziggler agrees to drop her and Vickie starts crying. Austin tells them to relax, and he had actually made the match earlier today.
A recap of Andy winning Tough Enough last week is shown.
Austin is shown talking to Andy backstage. He gives Andy a beer, and CM Punk comes in. Austin asked Andy to leave. Austin asked Punk if he wanted a beer and Punk kept asking “What?” Punk asked Austin if he can say his alphabet backwards, and Austin said he can whip Punk’s a– backwards. Austin told Punk that Nexus is banned and that he has an announcement to make, and he’s going to go do it now.
Austin’s music hits and he rides to the ring on a four-wheeler and grabs a mic. He thanks everyone for coming out and before he can say more, the RAW GM chimes in. The GM says Austin did a fair job, but that he will be back next week. Austin says there is still a little time left and he’s still the GM. He then says that next week will be another three hour show and the fans will make the matches and stipulations.
RAW GM keeps chiming in and Austin finally chases Cole off. The chime keeps going off and Austin grabs the laptop and a beer, throws the laptop on the ramp and dumps his beer on it. Austin then heads to the back with his four-wheeler and runs over the laptop. He then runs back to the ring, says it’s good to be back “and that’s the bottom line”, then shakes Booker T’s hand and takes off.
The show opens early with Steve Austin, Luke and Andy in the ring to crown the new “Tough Enough” winner. Vince McMahon’s music and he heads to the ring. He asks for a big hug from Austin and Austin asks him, “how about a stunner instead?” McMahon asks Like and Andy what makes them think that they deserve to be in the same ring as Shawn Michaels, Andre the Giant, Sgt. Slaughter and Austin. Andy starts by saying that he “guaran-damn-tees” and McMahon cuts him off right there. Luke then says he should win. McMahon says he’s going to pick the TE champion. Austin tells Vince that TE is his show and he’ll pick a winner, not Vince. Vince tells him to go ahead and suggests a drumroll, and Austin obliges. he drumroll beats as Austin goes back and forth between Andy and Luke. Austin then proclaims “Big Andy” the winner, which I consider an upset.
Big Andy is crowned the new “Tough Enough” champion.
Austin tells Luke he did a good job as he leaves the ring. Austin asks Vince if he has any words for Andy, and Vince welcomes him and slaps him, which floored the big man. Austin asked Vince what he was doing, helped Andy to his feed and then gave him a stunner. Austin welcomed Andy. As Andy got up and walked to the back, Austin shook his hand. Austin then proceeded to ask for beers in the ring and Vince was going to join him. Cue R-Truth.
Truth comes out to “when Johnny comes marching home” and dressed like a Civil War soldier. Truth started saying that the RAW GM wanted to apologize, and Vince says let’s show why the GM wants him to apologize and they replay the angle for last week. Truth apologizes to “Big Jimmy” and “Little Jimmy” and says “I’m sorry” multiple times. Austin then asked Truth to apologize for “dressing like a jackass.”
Truth said that they were in Richmond, where they formed the Confederate States of America. Austin said it was 150 years ago, what does that have to do with today. Truth said the Confederacy had one good idea… secession. Truth said he’s seceding from the WWE Universe. He said he’ll keep the WWE title match, but he won’t participate in any video games, merchandise, etc. He said he’s been a victim of a conspiracy, and asks Vince if he’s right.
Vince starts making fun of R-Truth’s first name being “R”, and told Truth to visit him during his office hours. The Miz’s music hits. “Really? Really?” Miz said that if it weren’t for Alex Riley, he would still be WWE Champion. He asked for one last championship match. Riley’s music then hits to a nice pop and he headed to the ring.
Riley told Miz that the only thing he deserved was a third straight beatdown. John Cena’s music then hit. Cena gets in the ring and takes the mic. Cena told Miz that he made him say “I Quit” several times. He told Riley that he didn’t like him, but commended him for beating up the Miz. Cena then questions Truth’s mental state. Cena tells Truth that he got what he wanted, a title shot against him. The RAW GM chimes in.
Cole starts to read the email, but Vince tells Cole to shut up and that he’s “got this one.” He makes Truth and Miz vs. Cena and Riley for tonight, with Steve Austin as special ref.
The Miz and R-Truth vs. Alex Riley and John Cena w/ special referee Steve Austin
The end of the match saw Cena get Miz up for AA. R-Truth broke it up but was dumped out of the ring. Truth came in with a chair, but was dropkicked and the chair hit Truth. Cena and Miz nailed each other with a double clothesline. Riley got the briefcase, teased hitting Cena, but then nailed Miz. Austin followed up with a stunner and Cena hit AA on Miz for the three count.
After the match, Cena and Austin celebrated in the ring while Riley grabbed a beer and headed to the back and saluted Austin and Cena. The RAW GM chimed in and said that the ref blatantly overstepped his authority by physically interfering, and that Cena and Riley were disqualified. RAW GM chimed in again and said that next week on the three hour All-Star night, Austin will be the special guest GM. Austin then proceeded to beat up Cole and got him in the ring. Austin spilt beer on Cole and hit him with the stunner. Cena followed up and hit Cole with the AA. Austin then celebrated in the ring and threw some beers at Cena, who was heading to the back.
The Miz and R-Truth defeated John Cena and Alex Riley via disqualification.
